| Iditarod
Race
In
2004, Rick's dream of running the Iditarod became a reality
. During the winter of 2003-2004, Rick trained yearlings
and
2-year-olds
and raced
a team
of these
young dogs
in the 2004
Iditarod, finishing with 13 happy and healthy dogs. The goal
in taking the young dogs into the race was not to try to win
the
Iditarod,
but to
give
both
Rick
and
the
young dogs some valuable racing experience.
In
2006 Rick finished 34th in the Iditarod, and took home the award
for most improved musher. In 2007 Rick finished 37th.
